Millie Edwards
BSc Sports Therapist

I’m Millie, a BSc-qualified Sports Therapist and the face behind Recovery Zone Injury Clinic.

I created Recovery Zone because I know first-hand how challenging it can be to live with an injury, particularly when you feel like you’re not being heard or understood. Having experienced these frustrations myself, I understand how much an injury can affect your confidence, everyday life and the things you love doing.

My experiences have shaped the way I approach treatment today. I believe everyone deserves to feel listened to, understood and supported throughout their recovery. That’s why I take the time to understand your individual needs, provide personalised care and help you work towards getting back to what matters most to you.

I’ve always enjoyed keeping active and have been involved in a variety of sports, including badminton and netball. However, it was my own experience with chronic injuries that ultimately led me towards a career in sports therapy.

At just 14, I was told my pain was growing pains and that rest would resolve it. But as the months turned into years, the pain continued, and the things I loved doing became increasingly difficult. For five years, I struggled to find answers and often felt that what I was experiencing wasn’t truly being heard or understood.

It wasn’t until I found a therapist who took the time to listen, understand my
symptoms and look beyond the initial explanation that things began to change.
Looking back, I realised how much had been missed and how difficult it can be to navigate an injury when you don’t feel you have the right support.

That experience changed the way I viewed recovery. I became fascinated by how the body heals, what influences that process and what we can do outside of treatment sessions to support our progress. I wanted to understand more about my own recovery, but I also discovered a desire to help others who might be experiencing similar frustrations.

My own journey played a huge part in my decision to become a Sports Therapist. I understand how physically and emotionally challenging a long-term injury can be, and how important it is to have someone who takes your concerns seriously and involves you in decisions about your care.

Today, those experiences shape the way I approach my work at Recovery Zone. I believe treatment should be about more than simply addressing where it hurts. It’s about understanding you as a person, how your symptoms are affecting your life and what you want to achieve from your recovery.

Whether your goal is to return to sport, enjoy your favourite activities or simply feel more comfortable in everyday life, my aim is to provide individualised care that helps you move forward with confidence.

I know first-hand how much of a difference it can make when someone takes the time to listen. It’s that kind of care I want every person who walks through my door to experience.

About Recovery Zone

Recovery Zone Injury Clinic was created to make sports therapy accessible to
everyone, regardless of age, ability or lifestyle. I believe no injury or concern is too small to deserve attention, whether it’s a minor niggle, ongoing aches and pains or an injury that’s affecting your everyday life.

Despite the name, sports therapy isn’t just for sportspeople. Whether you’re
recovering from an injury, managing a long-term condition, struggling with
post-operative support or simply finding that everyday movements have become more difficult, Recovery Zone offers assessment, treatment and rehabilitation tailored to your individual needs.

My aim is to create a welcoming and approachable environment where you feel comfortable seeking advice, asking questions and taking an active role in your recovery. From your initial assessment through to rehabilitation, the focus is on helping you understand your condition, explore your treatment options and make informed decisions about your care.
